Step 1. From
the Start menu, click Settings, and choose Dial-Up
Networking.
Step 2.
Double-click the Make New Connection icon.
Step 3. In
the Type a name for the computer you are dialing field, type
in SOHO Central. Next, click the down arrow on the Select a
device drop-down list and choose your default modem. Then click
the Next button.
Step 4. In
the Area code field, type in your local area code. In the
Telephone number field, type your local access number. Then
click the Next button.
Note: Remember to make sure that the number you choose is a local
toll-free call.
Step 5.
Click the Finish button.
Step 6.
Click the New Dial-up icon with your right mouse button, then
choose Properties.
Step 7.
Click on the Networking tab. Click the down arrow on the
Type of Dial-Up Server: drop-down list and choose PPP:
Internet, Windows 2000/NT, Windows Me. Uncheck all the boxes
except for Enable software compression and TCP/IP. Then click
the TCP/IP Settings... button.
Step 8.
Select Specify name server addresses. In the Primary
DNS field, type 216.98.128.70 .
In the Secondary DNS field, type 216.98.138.70 . Then click the OK button.
Step 9.
Click on the Security tab. In the User name field,
type in your email address. In the Password field, type in
your password. Click the OK button.
Click the New Dial-up icon with your right mouse
button, then choose Create Shortcut.
Click the Yes button.
You are now set up in Dial-Up
