Open Transport PPP Configuration

When Open Transport is installed, OT-PPP appears in the Control Panels folder and is called "PPP". Once PPP is open the window should look something like the one below. In the "Name:" field enter your User ID.

In the "Password:" Field enter your password. Hint: If you put an X by "Save Password" you will not have to retype your password every time you log on. In the "Number:" field enter the phone number for your area .

Once that is done click Options.

Once the new window appears make sure that is looks like the one below and click the "Connection" tab.

Ensure that the window that appears looks exactly like the one below. If it does not, make appropriate changes and click OK.

Before you can connect the "Modem" needs to be configured as well as "TCP/IP"

To configure the "Modem" go to the PPP menu and go down  to "Modem..."

Modem Configure  "Modem"

To configure "TCP/IP" go to the PPP menu and go down to  "TCP/IP..."

Configure  "TCP/IP"

Once those have been configured, click on Connect

It will then dial your modem and connect you to the Internet. However if you get a message that looks something like the following, then you either entered your User-ID or password incorrectly. Simply retype them.

If on the other hand you see the following changes in the PPP window, you are connected to the Internet.

To disconnect from the Internet once you are done click Disconnect.
